52 days to go
My belly button has never really popped out during pregnancy. The closest it came was with the triplets, which is understandable since I was bigger with them that I will ever be again. Even then, it was just sort of half-raised a very little bit. With Liam, it just got a little shallow. This time, I can see it trying to invert a little, but only because of the scars from the surgery. I can see in places where the scar line has moved out a little bit, and in one spot it has a little raised lip inside that scar line. But I still don't think it's going to manage to completely invert this time, either.
My contractions have picked up again, more frequent than they had been. And this baby has got to be engaged, because I swear I get a little pushy feeling during the contractions. It's not irresistible at all (which is good!), just a LOT of pressure and the feeling that pushing would feel good. My contractions all along have felt very different than they did with Liam. I've always felt more downward pressure with each one than I did with him. I think it's because the baby is in such a better position. With Liam, I got the contractions, but because of the way he was positioned, his head never put pressure right on my cervix.
I still can't wait to get to labor and see what it's like. Things feel so right this time, more and more I'm getting the feeling that this birth is going to be quick and easy. I'm trying not to count on that, because I don't want to get myself in trouble if it's not, but that feeling is still there.
