I've been taking childbirth classes again. On the surface, it seems pretty silly. I know I'm definitely not learning anything I didn't already know. My purpose in doing it was just to spend more time in the birth center. I realized sometime about a month or so ago that I was getting flat-out terrified every time I went in there for a visit. That can't work for birth, you can't have a good birth if you're panicked. So we decided I should go ahead and take the class, even though I don't need it, just to sort of desensitize myself to the whole place.

So far, it seems to be working. It's not really a hardship. Brian doesn't need to come, since he attended the last class with me in 2002 and we're doing our own research and review stuff together. So he stays home with the kids while I go. One night a week, I just sit in the corner and sew, and open my big mouth entirely too often in my opinion. But it has ended up being a fairly relaxing evening out, and it doesn't cost anything, since the cost of classes is included in our outrageous birth center fee.
