Happy Birthday, Kender!

It's hard to believe that it's already been a year since Kender was born at home. And yet so much has changed here in the last year that sometimes it seems much longer. Time, as always, slips away too quickly. I never feel like I got enough "itty bitty baby" time, but watching him reach each developmental milestone is so amazing that regret can't stick around.

We had a great birthday celebration last night with our friends the Browns, Maw-Maw, and Uncle Jack. I made fajitas and queso while the guests brought rice. I made our traditional baby bear cake for Kender, cupcakes for the kids, and a big banana creme cake for the adults. Kender apparently doesn't like cake, although he did go for the strawberry ice cream.

We all found some great presents for Kender, with lots of lights and sounds. Our friends brought him some wooden puzzles, too, which was good since all our old ones are long lost. Even though we thought Kender was ready to pass out by the time we started opening presents, he perked right up and checked out everything!

I'll get some pictures up later today.
