More on the break
We just heard back from the doctor's office this morning. After reviewing the reports over the weekend, they want her to see an orthopedist to be sure that the treatment is sufficient and correct. They're going to try to get her an appointment as soon as possible, with their preferred orthopedist or with a different one if necessary.
They also finally faxed me the report. In addition to it being a condylar fracture, it is also a Salter Harris Type II fracture. This is a fracture through the growth plate, which actually does often require setting and casting because it can cause permanent shortening of the bone. So it's a little more serious than we thought.
I wish they would have faxed me the report on Friday, when I asked for it. I would have pushed for an appointment with an orthopedist yesterday.
