I went to my first Avon sales meeting last night. I was very surprised to find out that my meeting place is in Jackson. I would have expected it to be in Lansing. Makes me wonder just how many (or how few!) reps are actually in my area. I got waylaid on the way there. I stopped at Burger King for dinner, and the Assistant Manager called me inside to look over the book and place an order...a BIG ORDER! Finally! So I didn't mind being late to my first meeting. I'm glad I still went. I got to pick up an incentive package for the new Anew Intensive Eye Treatment, plus some samples for the upcoming Anew Clinical Lip Treatment, and I put in an order for a yard sign and a car decal at a very good price, courtesy of the district manager. She also gave us some tips for getting things moving.

Today, I decided to start working on the Power of 3 idea. I'm going to try to contact 3 new people and 3 old customer every day...or at least 3 something. I especially want to make a more concerted effort to get brochures and follow-up calls out to my existing customers, see if I can get some more repeat business. I've been really bad about just sort of sitting around, waiting for the calls to come in. Just 3 a day, that's all. Today I surpassed that, actually, which is good. I gave brochures to 4 old customers, I left stacks of brochures at 3 businesses, I got one phone number to call back about leaving brochures, and I went back to Burger King and got another order. Pretty good! Tomorrow, I'm going to make some phone calls to my most recent customers and follow up on those purchases. I can do this!
