If the rest of 2007 plays out like the first week has, this will be a busy but good year.

On Wednesday, I became a daycare. I've always said that I wouldn't do that, that my own kids were enough work, but this should be doable. It's before- and after-school care for the two boys across the street. They're over here pretty much every afternoon to play with Brenden anyway, so not much change there. The big change will be in the mornings. Basically, we'll have to shift our schedules up two hours. But this may be a good thing, helping us get on a better schedule and get more done. We'll see; they're paying me, at least.

Thursday, as I was sitting down to breakfast, I got a call from the UK. A guy I did some work for back in the summer of 2005 remembered me and called me OVERSEAS to ask for my help on a rush project. It's a minimum of $500, maybe more. It means working on my birthday, but how flattering is that? And this guy is the best customer I've ever had, very no-nonsense, doesn't play games with the specs or anything. What a cool way to end my maternity leave!
