Catch up
My oh my, we are behind!
One big major event is a new pair of glasses in the house. Jarod got his first pair of glasses in early July, and is doing great with them. That's right, Jarod. Looks like we can't blame the girls' eyes on their prematurity anymore. By four months, Jarod had begun to display behaviors similar to Caitlin, including crossing eyes and staring at his hands a lot. We took him in, and his prescription is -5/-5.5 already! On the plus side, we have found a wonderful set of glasses. The brand name is Mira-Flex (I still can't find a website for them), and they specialize in glasses for babies and toddlers. The frames are made from a flexible plastic material and come in a wide variety of colors and three different sizes. They strap on using a sport band (which matches the frame) and snaps. These glasses are absolutely indestructible! Too bad we didn't have them for Caitlin.
More major events...Caitlin lost her first tooth as we were driving through Austin last month. Interestingly enough, she lost her first tooth about 3 or 4 months after Brenden lost his first tooth...and she also got her first tooth about 3 or 4 months after Brenden got his first tooth. Also in tooth fairy land, the tooth fairy has officially declared that she will not be paying any more visits for swallowed teeth, after Brenden swallows his third lost tooth and Caitlin swallows her second. They actually had to be told they had lost a tooth, because they didn't notice! I don't recall being so oblivious to my teeth when they were falling out.
Labor day and the requisite BBQ has come and gone, school has started, and we are currently waging war against the largest flea invasion the world has ever seen. Wish us luck!
