Tuesday night has become movie night thanks to the special usually offered by the theater. Tonight, we decided to have dinner, too, and visited the Texas Roadhouse next door. I walked in, and while there was an American flag on the wall, no Lone Star was visible from the entrance. After being seated, the waiter came to take our drink orders. No Dr. Pepper. I checked the beer menu a while later, and no Shiner, either. I look up, and finally see two Lone Stars on the wall over the bar. In between them is a Spartans flag. On the other side of me, mounted on the wall, is what appears to be a large hairy squirrel with antlers.

What's wrong with this picture?

Texas, Dr. Pepper, Texas, Dr. Pepper. You *have* to serve Dr. Pepper if you're wanting to do Texas. We even have a Dr. Pepper Museum in Waco.

And not even a Texas beer?

A Spartans flag does not belong sandwiched between two Lone Stars. Granted, after the (most recent) riots over UT trampling MSU in the basketball finals, I can see where a Longhorns flag might cause problems. But I'd settle for an Aggie flag. Or if they have to have green, go for UNT; they're certainly not in athletic competition with MSU, at least.

Okay, the jackalope was cute. (It was a jackrabbit with antlers stuck on its head.) And the food was good. But it's those little things that mean so much. This is what happens when you found a restaurant called Texas Roadhouse in INDIANA.

*sigh*
