Liam started babbling Thursday, babababa and stuff. He's been making a few noises like that all week, but Thursday he really took off. He'll carry on a whole conversation and loves it when we babble back to him. He'll do it while he's eating, too. He doesn't eat his food, he talks to it until it runs down the back of his throat in frustration.

The older kids have been really exceptionally good the last few days. It's like we traded our set in for another one. We started a new discipline program Wednesday night of talking to them and reasoning and explaining things we want them to do. It's working best with Tamara, but she's usually the one starting things and getting into the most trouble, bringing her into line helps bring the others along for the ride. We also started a happy/mad/sad thing. Mommy and Daddy are happy when they're being good, and sad or mad when they're bad. That seems to help, too. They'll ask if we're happy or mad when they're doing something. We still spank sometimes, when they do get into trouble a lot, but we're having to do it less now. Very nice.
