Skating

I'm really enjoying the roller-skating. Last night, I went to the Wednesday night session, and there were more adults and fewer kids, and a better variety of music. I got new bearings for my skates, which upped the cost a bit, but also vastly improved their performance. I was no longer the slowest skater in the rink, and was able to start playing around with them a little bit. I think I'm doing pretty good, for how long I've been back on them.

Skating injuries

We went for our third week of skating today. The kids are improving rapidly. But we did have a couple of attempts at self-destruction. Tamara has discovered that she can go quite fast, all over the floor. However, she fails to remember to slow down before encoutering an obstacle. Hence, her rapid throat-first encouter with the rails.

Caitlin, on the other hand, has her speed well in hand. But her balance when attempting to skate backward still leaves something to be desired. She fell on her skate...as in, the wheeled part of her skate impacted her groin. OUCH!

No More Disposables

I am officially over the disposable breast pads. I don't care if they're more absorbent, I don't care if they don't leak, I don't care if they're less bulky.

I just ended up washing one with my bras.

Have you ever done this? Have you seen the absolute disaster that results?

Thank the gods it washed back up in one load. Ugh. No more, please.

Please

Gods grant me just one day free from major catastrophes and disturbances. Especially ones that involve major expenditures.

bad girl

I guess I've been busy. Actually, I've been lazy. Or maybe just flat out drop-dead exhausted. Have you ever been so tired it felt like you were drunk, because your brain function and motor skills are so impaired? That's what I've felt like most of this week. And now that I seem to be recovering from that...I have a cold.

Boy Scouts

Brenden went to his first Boy Scouts pack meeting tonight. He had a blast. They had pushcart races, and although Brenden missed out on building the carts, he got to help race. Next up: a bowling trip!

Caitlin won!

Caitlin won first place in the 5-7 age group in our local Easter coloring contest. She got her name in the paper, and she'll be getting a prize package in the mail. Way to go, Caitlin!

Exercise

Almost forgot about my exercise blogging. Yesterday, I walked to the park at Columbia and 127 with the kids, pushing Liam in the stroller and carrying Jarod in the rebozo. I just get constantly reminded of how bad a shape I'm in. It's terrible! I have got to change it. My hips hurt so badly when I got home.

I couldn't walk or ride today, but I'm planning to do yoga this evening after the kids go to bed, baby willing.

More Madness

Today was another one of those crazy days. It probably wasn't all that bad, just felt that way, but that's bad enough.
